Leonta Williams joined AAPC in 2021 and has 20 years of experience working in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. Her area of expertise includes coding, CDI, auditing, physician and staff training/education, operations, process improvement, and compliance. As Senior Director of Education, she is responsible for identifying client training needs and coordinating custom training delivery options to meet those needs and assist with ROI.
Prior to joining AAPC, Lee worked as the director of coding at one of the largest cancer networks in the southeast overseeing the organization’s provider coding, auditing, and education activities across twenty-six locations. She has served on local, organizational, and national boards providing expertise across all aspects of the healthcare business and is the Founder of the Covington, GA Local AAPC Chapter. She also provides coding oversight services to organizations such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Industrial Economics (IE). Lee was educated at Herzing University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management and an MBA with a concentration in Healthcare Administration.
